K-ETA is an electronic travel authorization that visa-free foreign visitors need to obtain before entering the Republic of Korea, by submitting relevant information online such as their travel information.

1. How to apply?
  • Step 1. Access the K-ETA website.
  • Step 2. Input the required information after checking the contents for each category.
  • Step 3. Make the payment of KRW 10,000. (Approximately USD $10, excluding additional fee)
  • Step 4. Your application will be under assessment for a maximum of 72 hours.
  • Step 5. Check the results of your application.
  • Step 6. Once approved, you are ready for entry into Korea.
2. Requirement

    - Valid passport
    - Valid e-mail address
    - Image file of Identification picture
    - Credit or debit card that can be used to pay the fee

3. Exemptions
* Notice on Exemption of K-ETA

Starting from July 3, 2023, K-ETA requirement will be exempted for:
- Ages of 17 years old and under
- Ages of 65 years old and above
* Please note that those who will become 18 years old on the day of entry are required to obtain K-ETA approval.

* Notice on Temporary Exemption of K-ETA for 22 countries/regions

K-ETA will be temporarily exempted to the 22 countries/regions listed below from April 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024.

4. Important guidelines
  • Please apply the K-ETA at least 72 hours prior to boarding the flight for the Republic of Korea. You can get the results by email within 72 hours after submitting the K-ETA application. However, due to an unexpected increase of applications, the result may not be notified within 72 hours. Therefore, please apply for the K-ETA with sufficient time. Once you have been approved, the K-ETA is valid for two years after issuance.
  • The K-ETA is not a VISA. K-ETA approval does not guarantee entry to the Republic of Korea. The final determination of a traveler’s entry will be made by the immigration official during entry immigration inspection.
  • If you submit inaccurate or false information on the K-ETA application, the K-ETA approval will be refused or cancelled. Please re-check your information and correct any mistakes before submitting your application.
